Although we anticipated that the concept of an ultra-low-profile fridge – designed to eliminate the need for a drop-down fridge slide, preserve valuable packing space, and allow for easy access – would be well received, the market’s response exceeded our expectations.
However, the ultimate success of the fridge relies on commercial drawer manufacturers recognising its full potential.
While several off-the-shelf storage manufacturers have begun developing solutions that integrate the new National Luna drawer fridge concept, Big Country is the first manufacturer to create a storage solution that seamlessly incorporates this innovative design.

To fully explore the potential of the range, which includes 40 and 60-litre units, Big Country designed several drawer-system solutions that can accommodate both fridge sizes in either SUV or bakkie configurations.
The company also planned for the built-in integration of a dual-battery system, optimal ventilation ports for the fridge, and Big Country’s trusted Combo Drawer layout, which has a proven 10-year track record. Each drawer can support up to 80kg, while the integrated fridge slide can carry 120kg.
The final fit and finish of the drawer system was designed to complement the fridge’s premium stainless steel construction and flagship features such as Bluetooth control, a built-in bottle opener, and the option of single or dual control.
The Big Country drawers will be sold as a universal unit, with dedicated fitting kits available for specific vehicles, utilising OEM mounting points in SUVs.
